Flag Day

We hold an annual street collection in Westport, usually on a Saturday in June each year. We always need volunteers to help out with this, so if you would like to give a little of your time to participate in organising or collection on the day, please contact us by email

The amount raised during our 2016 Flag Day was €1,537.71.

We have a publication entitled Walk the Line, by Iris Galloway and Rob Kennan, which describes the Old Railway Line Walk connecting Westport town centre with the harbour. It covers the history of the Line, our campaign to protect it from development and preserve it as a nature trail, and the flora and fauna to be found along it. It now forms part of the new Great Western Greenway, which was largely based on the success of the Old Railway Line Walk. The book, costing €8.00, has raised €2,766.65 for the Trust since its publication, and was used to promote the development of the Great Western Greenway. It can be obtained in local bookshops, at any of our monthly lectures, or by emailing .
